I agree with Dr. Jacob George in his blog Astro Sucks(Part 2) . Just read at the fine prints at the back of the bill and you can find out why. An administration fee of RM10 will be charged if one failed to pay within the due date. Next a reconnection fee of RM20 will follow. Switching fee of RM20 will be charged if one were to downgrade the package or change of package at the same price.
Why can’t Astro send a reminder just like TMB does. Sometimes the subscriber do not receive the bill for unknown reason. In my place in Subang Jaya, letters have sometimes find its way into USJ household and vice versa.
I also wonder is it a lot of hassle to do a simple switching of Astro package? Is it fair to charge Astro subscriber RM20 for such work?
Lastly Astro should be more friendly by adding a fine prints at the back of the bill, such as “IF TRANMISSION IS STOPPED DUE TO BAD WEATHER OR TECHNICAL FAULT THE CONSUMER WILL BE CREDITED AT A RATE OF SEN10 PER MINUTE” . I think this is fair and square.
