We laud the call made by our PM to bring back the talented professionals. However this is nothing new as several calls had been made before . As a result a few did come back and after some years quite a number had left to join private sectors or moved out to neighbouring countries. The above problems should be studied by the government whether is it the incentives and/or the facilities do not match their talents or the bureaucracies..
I feel that one of the problems in retaining the best brains in the professional sectors lies in our Professional Bodies . It is a pity that the foreign graduates, the twinning or franchise local graduates are not recognized by these bodies although the courses are recognized by the government accreditation bodies. The professional bodies like legal, accountancy, engineering and medical block these graduates from joining these professional bodies directly. These graduates need to sit for local examination to satisfy local requirements whereas local graduates even from universities with lower MQA Rating than the local private universities are exempted. The irony is that although the foreign professional obtained membership from the foreign bodies they still need to clear the hurdle here, that is to obtain membership from local Professional Bodies.
Just bear in mind a majority of our local professors are graduates from foreign universities and the syllabus are mostly based from foreign universities. Further, those foreign universities are listed in the top best universities in the world whereas our local universities are not even in the list and yet our Professional Bodies descriminate the foreign professionals. So one will see quite a number of our talented professionals remain overseas or working in the private sectors (as they are not qualified to join government services)or working in the neighbouring countries.

UNFRIENDLY ASTRO
I agree with Dr. Jacob George in his blog Astro Sucks(Part 2) . Just read at the fine prints at the back of the bill and you can find out why. An administration fee of RM10 will be charged if one failed to pay within the due date. Next a reconnection fee of RM20 will follow. Switching fee of RM20 will be charged if one were to downgrade the package or change of package at the same price.
Why can’t Astro send a reminder just like TMB does. Sometimes the subscriber do not receive the bill for unknown reason. In my place in Subang Jaya, letters have sometimes find its way into USJ household and vice versa.
I also wonder is it a lot of hassle to do a simple switching of Astro package? Is it fair to charge Astro subscriber RM20 for such work?
Lastly Astro should be more friendly by adding a fine prints at the back of the bill, such as “IF TRANMISSION IS STOPPED DUE TO BAD WEATHER OR TECHNICAL FAULT THE CONSUMER WILL BE CREDITED AT A RATE OF SEN10 PER MINUTE” . I think this is fair and square.

No News is Good News
Why the newspapaer sales are dropping everyday? One reason is the online news in the internet. The other reason is that the quality of news is not worth reading. The rakyat want to hear positive news and this comes very rare nowadays.
Yesterday MCA Chief stated 'MCA would embark on high-profile promotions and expose the mistakes made by the opposition parties'.This sort of news do not attract many readers. The stereotyped statements like lowest fuel cost in the region, etc also do not go well with the common people. What the people want to hear things like Toll reduction, lower fuel and sugar or other commodities price. On the big scale news like PKZ,Sime Darby and Felda losses recovered etc.Positive news will give high impact to its readers.Negative news means the leaders are warming up their seat!
As an ex-doctor Chua can give advices on how to curb pregnancies among student or teens.Political news should undergo paradigm shift.

Gossip Jamuan Kahwin
Musim ni memang banyak jemputan kahwin.Maklumlah dekat nak puasa.
Cara dia bercerita memang dia ni orang atas-atas bekerja dipejabat Ketua kita.Habis di taburnya perangai Ketua ni dari kaki tidur, lewat datang function hingga tak suka baca laporan.Aku pernah dengar ni tapi taklah sedekat dengan pegawai ni.Isteri aku pun pernah kena tunggu hampir satu hari bersama beratus murid-murid menunggu pelancaran acara kementerian pelajaran dimana beliau datang dah hari nak gelap!Ini cerita lama.
Baru-baru ni pula dimajlis perkahwinan anak aku, isteri aku duduk disebelah mak datin ni di meja beradap.Dia ni kazen si Mamat tu.Dia kata kalu nak jumpa si Mamat tu dia terpaksa tunggu Pompuan(isteri dia) takda baru selamat.Kalau tidak kazen ker tarzan ker memang takda chan jumpa saudara.Kalau bertemu eloklah dia melenchong jalan kerana buat penat angkat tangan nak salam memang tak dilayan.Loh, kalau pangkat saudara pun tak diindah apatah lagi orang macam kita ni? Satu lagi apa yang you dengar berkenaan Pompuan ni 85% betul, dia kata.Ha, best dengar cerita yang 85% sampai tak cukup dessert kata isteri ku.Kalau nak tau sapa Pompuan dan si Mamat ni,lu fikirlah sendiri.
Ini gossip di meja perkahwinan.Itu aja!
